Is tuition necessary?

This is the most important question to consider.  In some cases tuition might be an obvious option.  More and more schools are advising parents to use high quality tutors to supplement the support they receive at school.

Some children however, do not require tuition and ought to do well in a supportive and structured environment, which can be provided at home and at school.

The best way to determine whether tuition is needed for your child would be to book a diagnostic assessment.

Am I charged for cancelled sessions?

If you cancel with more than 24 hours notice there will be no fee.  Due to demand it is not always possible to reschedule a session but it will always be attempted.

If you need to cancel with less than 24 hours notice the full session price will be charged to cover the time of the tutor.

05 /
How long do sessions last?

The minimum tutorial length is one hour.  Generally younger students should not have sessions lasting longer than an hour while older students should be able to manage an hour and a half.

It is common for students to have more intensive sessions the closer they are to their exam but this is only beneficial if the student is on board!

The minimum session time is one hour and the maximum is three hours.

My child no longer requires tuition, how much notice do I need to give?
06 /

The benefit of using a private tutor is that it provides greater flexibility.  The notice period for sessions is one week.  If you decide you no longer require tuition please contact us and following the next session, all tuition will be cancelled.

Tutoring can be expensive, do you offer subsidised tuition?
07 /

Yes.  We believe that all students should have access to quality tutors to enrich their education.  We lead the industry in providing subsidised tuition to students in receipt of free school meals.  We hope other agencies will do similar in the future.
