Ed Barnett Tuition can provide support and guidance across a number of subjects and assessments


Ed trained as a secondary school teacher and has extensive experience of supporting both high achievers and students who required support to achieve their target grades.

In addition to supporting academic subjects Ed is also an experienced 11+ and 13+ tutor and supports many students with the ISEB pre-test as well as the entrance exams for many independent school across south London.

A level Philosophy and Religious Studies

A levels in Philosophy (AQA) and Religious Studies (AQA, OCR, Edexcel, Eduqas) are challenging and well regarded courses.  To succeed in both subjects a student needs to present erudite and convincing arguments for and against specific issues.  

Ed has experience of teaching both of these subjects to A level standard and can provide tips and support to maximise a students' chances of achieving a high grade.

11 + Assessments

Ed has experience both with the ISEB pre-tests and the in house assessments of a number of schools across south London.  Ed has supported students applying to Eton, Dulwich College, Alleyn's, JAGS and Sydenham Girls.

13+ Assessments

Ed has supported a number of students preparing for the 13+ assessments for schools across south London.  He has a number of resources availaible to clients to supprot their preparations.

In addition Ed can also provide support for the equally important interview aspect of the admission process at all schools.

Philosophy and Critical Thinking for Children

Ed provides non assessment support for children with elementary philosophy and critical thinking.  Workshops are run every year during the summer holidays in addition to year round private tutorials.

UCAS Applications

Ed has extensive knowledge of the UCAS system and can provide support and guidance with personal statements due to his experience as a sixth form specialist.
